Most of the CEOs I’ve talked to said they haven’t seen their employees protest, but they’re bracing for it. But I will say that I don’t think it will become that widespread because of how swiftly and unapologetically Google addressed it. I don’t think it will become a thing.

CNN —A medical examiner on Tuesday released the manner of death for a baby whose mother accused a Georgia hospital and others of decapitating during delivery, ruling it a homicide. The Clayton County, Georgia Medical Examiner’s office said the baby died from a broken neck and the baby’s head was detached, according to a news release shared with CNN. Ross went into labor on July 9 and her doctor attempted to deliver the baby using various methods, including “applying traction to the baby’s head,” the lawsuit says. Ross says the doctor “grossly” and “negligently applied excessive traction” on her baby’s head and neck, the complaint says. Everyone we have consulted has never seen a situation like this before,” Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Director Brian Byars told CNN on Tuesday.

Federal law doesn't require employers to give employees any time off to vote, much less paid time off. Instead, the laws vary from state to state: Just 29 states and the District of Columbia currently require employers to give employees time off to vote in general elections. Only 23 of them require that you actually get paid for that time, and those rules also vary by state. Some require up to three hours of paid time off, while other states leave it up to employers to determine what constitutes a "reasonable amount of time to vote." That leaves 21 states where your employer is not required to offer you any time off in order to cast your ballot next week.
As more companies adopt hybrid work arrangements, with teams split between in-person and remote employees, a pressing question arises: How important is it, really, to be clocking in face-time with your bosses and co-workers? While an overwhelming majority of executives place greater value on in-office contributions, 42% of employees believe their bosses notice their remote contributions as much as their work in the office. There's a difference in opinions, however, among executives and employees on the importance of face-time. Envoy found that a greater percentage of female executives (8%) notice employees' remote contributions as much as in-office contributions compared to their male counterparts (3%). Gen Z employees were the most aligned with executives, with 73% of Gen Z employees believing that their onsite contributions are noticed more, while just 56% of workers from different generations agreed.
XPO Logistics Appoints CFO, Assembles Board

XPO Logistics Inc. has assembled its board of directors and appointed a chief financial officer as it proceeds with plans to spin off its tech-enabled brokered transportation platform. Brad Jacobs will serve as executive chairman, and Johnny C. Taylor Jr., Allison Landry, Jason Aiken and Michael Jesselson will remain as directors, the company said. Three additional directors were named to the board: Bella Allaire, the executive vice president of technology and operations with Raymond James Financial; Mario Harik, future chief executive officer of XPO following the spinoff; and Irene Moshouris, the senior vice president and treasurer of United Rentals. XPO Logistics appointed Carl Anderson as its chief financial officer. Mr. Anderson most recently served as CFO of Meritor Inc., a global supplier of OEM and aftermarket parts for commercial vehicle and industrial markets, XPO Logistics said.
